Administration Team

Dr. Scott Floyd joined E. L. Wright Middle School as principal in July 2024 and is now in his second year leading the Wolf Pack. He brings more than 19 years of experience in teaching and school leadership, along with a steadfast commitment to ensuring every student receives an excellent and equitable education.

Dr. Floyd began his career as a high school social studies teacher, earning Teacher of the Year honors before moving into school administration. His leadership journey includes serving as assistant principal at Fort Dorchester High School and Summit Parkway Middle School, as well as principal at Aiken Middle School and Schofield Middle School.

At Aiken Middle School, Dr. Floyd led a comprehensive transformation that resulted in the school moving two levels on the South Carolina school report card rating system in just three years. He later guided Schofield Middle School through a successful school merger and the launch of South Carolina’s first Cambridge International Lower Secondary program.

At E. L. Wright, Dr. Floyd focuses on building strong relationships, setting high expectations, and sustaining a culture of excellence that supports continuous growth for both students and staff.
